There appears to be unambiguous divergence among leading members of the ruling NPP on the rationale behind the deployment of more military personnel to the Volta and Oti regions on the sightless side of Parliament, which NDC has accused the government of such act.
The minority spokesperson on Defence and Interior, James Agalga in a press briefing descended the NPP government into the gutters over their plans to prevent citizens from registering.
Civilians in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, where the military resides, had uttered concerns over the increasing number of security personnel amongst accusations of abuse and a condition that is creating an atmosphere of fear and panic.
Meanwhile, the NPP MP for Adansi-Asokwa, K.T Hammond responding to the claims said the military is there to protect the borders and prevent foreigners from entering.
Adding more wounds to injury, the Western North Regional Youth Organizer for the NPP, Gabriel Doh, in his Facebook post cited by Sefwinews.com stated that those critics against the presence of the military in the Volta region are thieves and criminals.
